We Have Got Through Another Silly Season !!

 

Things on the fruit and vegetable front have improved, but as always there are some items in short supply.

Tomatoes have eased, with local and South West crops now in full swing. We are still seeing reasonable supply of large heirloom-coloured tomatoes coming through.

 

 

 

 

EGGS, HERBS & MORE

EGGS are still in good supply and prices have eased slightly.

 

Herb supply has improved.

Tarragon, marjoram and lemon thyme are sporadic, but the rest are currently available.

 

 

 

 

POTATOES, MUSHROOMS & MORE

 

Potatoes are still in short supply, but we are getting enough to supply our customers.

Mushrooms have settled down a bit.

Juicing apples are very short, as are most apple varieties. New season Granny Smith apples are still a few weeks away. New season Galas are in and eating well, with no sign of new season Pink Ladies yet.

Kiwi fruit just started coming in.

Rhubarb is not available for at least two weeks.

Dried lemon and lime slices are now back in full supply.

 

 

 

 

   

STONE FRUITS

Stone fruit supply is still steady, with good volumes of nectarines, peaches and plums.

Local apricots have finished, but there is some Eastern States stock available.

Mango supply has tightened as we are waiting on Gin Gin stock to come in. There are not many mangoes in this region at present, so supply will be light and limited.

Local grapes are in and eating well.

Figs are in full swing.

Cherries are still available, though supply is lighter.

 

 

 

   

SEASONAL HIGHLIGHTS 

 

Asparagus is now predominantly from the East Coast and Mexico, with limited supply from Carnarvon.

Avocados are in good supply.

Lemon supply is stable, with stock from Queensland, some local fruit, and Egyptian fruit now in the market. With Egyptian lemons, quality can vary — some fruit is very good, while some is average. You may also receive greener fruit, as this is how it is shipped.

 

We are now in the first six months of the year, when we have several public holidays, so please take note of delivery advice when it is sent out.

 

With fruit and vegetable supply, there is always something happening. We may think things are going well, but conditions can change very quickly.

 

 

Please also be aware we do stock a range of Browne’s milk, we are stocking the core range, but if there is anything you need, please ask.

 

 

 

 

                                                     

DELIVERY & ORDERING REMINDERS:

Delivery Days: Monday to Saturday for all areas – $100 minimum

Sundays & Public Holidays: Online orders only — $300 minimum. Except Shopping Centers unless pre-approved.

If you do not normally get an order on a SUNDAY and need a large order, let us know!

As a lot of people forget to change the delivery date and we will assume the order is for Monday.

Our new ordering platform is user-friendly — but when entering partial kilograms (e.g. herbs), make sure to use 0.250 for 250grams. If you need help, do not hesitate to ask a team member.
